At Last !!!

We won at last ! Now for a couple more wins to get us out of the bottom three. That gap was starting to look like a mountain to climb, now it’s just a hill. That doesn’t mean we’re any where near safe of course but I have got a smile on my face for the first time for what seemed like an eternity. Lets hope a bit of belief is back, along with Maynard getting his first for a long time, hopefully followed by a few more in the coming weeks, a new manager working his magic, I’m optimistically happy. COYR – Always believe……….

Alan Walsh – Thanks to a TRUE CITY LEGEND

Alan Walsh – Thanks to a TRUE CITY LEGEND

On a day when most of the hype and newsprint will surround the arrival of Derek MacInnes as our new manager I want to take the opportunity to remind every City supporter that today, very sadly a TRUE CITY LEGEND and one of footballs nicest men left Ashton Gate for the last time Alan Walsh or Walshy as everybody affectionately knew the great man.  Without doubt the £18,000 that we paid to Darlington for a striker come left winger was UNDOUBTABLY the best £18,000 spent by ourselves in living memory.  A sweeter left foot with the power of a cannonball was what we got and it belonged to a man who always had a kind word or would always...

WANTED – New Manager with the words “Miracle Worker” on his CV

On the 3rd of October Keith Millen was requested to attend a meeting at Ashton Gate presumably with Colin Sex Moan and with in all probability Steve Hands Down listening in from his Guernsey retreat or a little nearer from his spanking new office in Anchor Road, it was confirmed what most normal thinking City fans knew was inevitable that Millie’s reign as Bristol City first team manager had come to a close.  Now as of today, 12 days have passed and officially no one knows (Apart from the board) just who the next incumbent of the Managers office at Ashton Gate will be?  This is 12 days in which the team have not kicked a ball in anger...

Sadly Inevitable

I purposedly start tonights “non match” offering with a bit of “classical writing.”  On a day which as I predicted less than 24 hours ago which has witnessed the ending of Keith Millens tenure as Manager of BCFC and the picture above taken at the end of last Tuesday nights debacle against Reading proved to be the VERY LAST sighting of KM at Ashton in his role I make no excuses for giving you the following my friends:- Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.  WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE There is no doubt in my own mind that Keith Millen has certainly made some crucial decisions which has contributed to his own...

UPDATE

For very obvious reasons I cannot and will not divulge my source BUT it is my information that     this WAS the last time that KM walked off of Ashton Gate in the position of BCFC Team Manager as by this time tomorrow his tenure will have been terminated. It is also my understanding that his replacement who will be in place by the end of this week will speak with a scouse accent, has plenty of Championship managerial experience and will have a reasonably short daily commute across the Severn Bridge?  It is also thought that like a lot of times when there is a change in management we will also see a change in attitude from the team………. WATCH THIS SPACE...

“IM DEVASTATED” says Keith – I know EXACTLY “how” he feels????

First of all please accept my apologies for the late posting of the Reading match report.  It is no exaggeration to state “That if I had written it soon after the final whistle, I could well have run out of well known swear words from my extensive vocabulary” so I will hope that my devoted readership will understand that I have composed my report at a time whereby I can make a more considered judgement albeit, one whilst I am STILL some 24 hours hence “shaking my head.” So the “devotees” all 12,018 of them of which there was probably no more than just over 10,000 of the red persuasion when you take into account the number of travelling supporters...

Return of so many old friends and finally……………

So on an afternoon which saw the return of old BCFC favourites Adriano Basso and Dele Adebola and ex BCFC player Liam Rosenior, true BCFC followers made their Saturday afternoon pilgrimage down to Ashton.  Now after our boys had managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory at Elland Road, Leeds last week a lot of fans would have approached todays game with a certain amount of apathy and it must be reported that at this moment in time the vast majority of City supporters feel that a parting of the ways between the club and the management team is absolutely inevitable it really is just a matter of when?  Just yesterday the only team keeping us off...

Brighton Rock

So on a weekend which will have so many poignant and sad memories for all of our friends on the other side of the pond and during the week over here in the UK whereby the legend who was Freddie Mercury would have celebrated his sixty fifth birthday and a Cardiff City supporter was tragically killed prior to the England v Wales international at Wembley I suppose events at Ashton this afternoon really do not take on that much importance but I do have to report that things are not good at Ashton at present and the word “pleasure” has disappeared from the link of “Going down the City” recently?  Since City last kicked a ball in anger at...

The PASSIONATE and the PASSION LESS………….

Right so after the less than auspicious start to the Championship season a visit from our old sparring partners from just up the M4 who have in recent years partnered the Gas in experiencing a decline down through the divisions was on the face of it just what the doctor ordered.  Swindon AKA Swindle Town are now under the management of that old referee (Or Paul Alcock in particular) favourite Paulo Di Canio.  Very much like us they have not had the very best of starts to the new campaign?  In fact before last night their only victories so far this season had been against the world footballing giants of March, Swindon Supermarine, Norcia (Who???) and Crewe, so taking...
