A great point and an away goal !

A great point AND an away goal ! It was a pleasant surprise when I saw City had managed an unlikely draw at Boro, even better knowing we had to play the last 9 mins + added time, with 10 men.We desperately needed that one. Did the new loanees make a difference ? Did they add some fire to the team ? Right now I don’t really care, an away point against one of the top teams (feels more like a win under the present circumstances), I’m happy. Now, if we can beat Derby next week, it will set us up nicely for the two 6 pointers over Easter, Florest and Coventry, two must win games. It didn’t take long...

CALAMITY does his bit for Sport Relief but its hard to see the funny side?

Basically since the start of the season most normal BCFC fans have “fretted” over our future membership in the Championship, but, I am sure that you will all agree that when an incident happens such as the one that occurred on Saturday, evening last at White Hart Lane when Bolton’s Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch during the FA Cup tie with Bolton, then “our” problems at BS3 are put totally into perspective and issues such as our potential relegation pale into total insignificance.  I must admit that after watching the glorious game for near on fifty years very little that happens on a football pitch actually surprises me, but, I will openly admit that whilst sitting in the...

Now after the euphoria of Tuesday nights performance against the Foxes there appears to be a slightly new confidence and optimism that we just “might” be able to get enough points between now and the end of the season from the remaining 11 games to ensure that once again next season we will be playing the likes of Leicester and Crapdiff again and not be looking forward to Yeovil and MK Dons???  In my own mind I calculated at the start of the season, using the number of points that all of the relegated sides have ended up with in the Championship over the last five seasons that a figure of 50 points “should” be enough to keep our...

FULL MOON OVER ASHTON

March 7, 2012

Today Sex Bomb has appeared to give Del Boy the “dreaded” vote of confidence in stating this morning “That we’ve got a very good manager.  If they (Just how bloody disrespectful is that – referring to those who pay their wages as “they”) expect us to start chopping and changing, that’s not the way it’s going to work.”  Now that in anybody’s language is a clear “vote of confidence” and so in all probability Del Boy will have checked out from his luxurious Bristol hotel for the last time this time next week and him and his side kick Tony will have taken full advantage of the cheap price single Easy jet flights from Lulsgate to Glasgow.  Del Boys response...

THE VULTURES (Or is it seagulls) ARE STARTING TO CIRCLE????

Now please can you all note that this photo was taken at about 14:00 today and I would ask you all to see how many “vultures” are in the sky over Ashton…………..  We will come back to this question, trust me. Before I start todays epistle let me state quite clearly “That the views expressed are totally mine and mine alone and if anybody doesn’t like them, then tough.”  I also have to make it clear that I have an extraordinarily good solicitor albeit very expensive. I have to let you into a secret as to why this bit of legalese kicks off todays edition.  Well I now have it on EXTREMELY GOOD AUTHORITY that our poularity is now spreading as...

SURELY NOW IS THE TIME FOR A RETHINK DEL BOY……………

One can only think that either someone in the Football League planning department or the computer that organises the Championship match fixtures is either very lonely or has a wicked sense of humour???  Either way the planning of a full set of fixtures on 14th February better known as Valentines Day has really caused major grief for the majority of red blooded male City supporters (Apart from my great mate Tim who is accompanied to most home games by his good lady anyway – Although I personally think this is only because she is extremely wary of Tim’s “unhealthy” interest in a certain Dance Troupe who try and entertain the masses at Ashton!!!).  I just hope tonights game provides...

Swings and ROUNDABOUTS

So friends across the pond before I enter into the main gist of todays report please may I post something that I posted on OTIB 24 hours ago (QUOTE):- Posted Yesterday, 04:08 PM Whatever with the ‘Boro free kick he was truly awful for BOTH sides that day. He is simply a rubbish referee who is very much up himself? Not a good start to the weekend, in fact I might just hope that tonights severe frost gets right into the pitch and he does us all a favour and postpones it tomorrow meaning that we can have someone a little better in black when the game is eventually played?  (UNQUOTE) That was my views on todays choice of match official a certain Mr.James Linnington...

Three points are three points (Courtesy Fred Graham)

Hello to all my fellow suffering BCFC fans on both sides of the “pond.”  Before I begin todays match report may I take this opportunity to personally thank all those wonderful friends who have offered their thoughts and condolences at this particular time.  Sadly my sister passed away a week ago and whilst she was never a BCFC fanatic like yours truly she always enquired as to their latest result.  Gone but NEVER forgotten.  RIP. Now call me extremely old fashioned but when I listen to comments from  the likes of Del Boy and Calamity claiming that the home game against  the mighty Donny is “A must win game” or “The first of 20 cup finals” then this really starts to...
