Another good report Si, since then, City were soundly beaten 3-0 (again) at Peterboro. Pitman started. Del Boy started with a 4-5-1 until HT, reverted to 4-4-2 in the second half, where City apparently had the better of the play but let in two more goals ! More worrying, it was Boro’s first win since Boxing Day, and the team directly above us in the league. Also, since you wrote, Pompey have been deducted 10 points, moving us up one. Unfortunately, the way things are going I can’t see us ending the season above Pompey. I’m not very optimistic right now, I hope Del Boy starts sticking with a 4-4-2 – He’s got to do something !!!
Blackpool just got hammered at home by West Ham (Maynard scored the second). Hopefully they can carry that form over to Saturday, although our record against Pool is pretty woeful. Lets hope we pull off a win and get rid of some of the gloom.

Sorry for your loss Si.
Another great report, as you said, 3 points are 3 points, I’ll take anything right now (it was actually a 6 pointer). Disappointed woods didn’t impress, when I saw he had scored I thought, just what we needed ! I guess we’ve got to give him a chance !
Any predictions for the Reading game ? I definitely don’t have a ‘warm fuzzy” for this game, a point would be good.

Great post, I tend to agree with everything you said, somethings definitely not quite right. Like you said, how can we win at Southampton then get completely out played by Crawley ? Is DM completely in charge ? Do players only give 100% when they feel like it ? Are they too comfortable getting their hefty pay checks and not worried if they play or not ? Hopefully,none of the above, I wish I knew the answers, but more importantly, I hope DM does ! Time will tell.
Keep the posts coming Si, it makes great reading.
On to Brighton, I’ve got another “warm fuzzy” about this game, like at Saints, we’ll have great support there and I for one think we’re gonna win “again”. Keep the faith. COYR.

Mate your City-sense worked wonders again. Fantastic win the lads, only team to do the double on them (so far) and ends their home unbeaten record. I’m chuffed it’s Dave’s team as well Means also that we’ll not start 2012 in the relegation zone, we really needed that after the results didn’t go our way. Hoping MvInnes can do some good business in the transfer market and more of the same for next year! Happy New Year everyone. Steve we should meet for beers soon.

We did it ! I hope I have a lot more “warm Fuzzes” in the new year. Brilliant win today, hope it gives the boys enough confidence to beat Millwall and Brighton and perhaps move us up the table a tad. COYR………………..

Agree with you Si, our thoughts go out to Gary Speed and his family, a great pro !

Saw the game on TV, it looked odds on it was going to be 0-0 until that Boro thunderbolt at the end. didn’t think Boro deserved the win, no way was it a foul that led to the goal. On top of that, City should have had a PK, and Steele made a wonder save from Maynard. Pitman had two good chances to steal it near the end but didn’t connect properly with his shots. All in all, a draw would’ve been a fair result in a game of very few chances. Lets hope it doesn’t dent City’s new found confidence and we continue our good run.

As for the FA Cup, a very difficult away game at Crawley isn’t what the doctor ordered for sure but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

In the mean time, keep the faith and support. COYR…..

I just made my first visit to this site, and what should I find but a (lengthy) match report/wedding review from someone I know/knew. If you’re reading this Simon. Think back to those glorious heady days at Wincanton Distribution Depot. Do you by any chance remember Paul Jefferies, the incredibly handsome short-haired friend of Steve Daniels?? Yes, tis I here. I see you’ve lost a lot in the hair department. But gained rather a lot everywhere else! I’ve not seen a live City match for many years, as I’m living in sunny Colorado. Been here for almost eight years now. I got married to a crazy American woman I met online. Good to see that you’re still following the reds. I’m up at eight o’ clock every Saturday to tune into Radio Bristol online, or whatever local station might be covering the match. Thanks for the great match report Simon. I’m going to have to get myself some glasses now with all this reading! I was so happy Saturday, it was a beautiful game. What I was really impressed by most first half was the defensive display, Southampton had chances but nearly always a city head or foot would be in the way. The level of effort and determination could not be faulted, James pulled off a great save early on as well. Adomah ran the Southampton defense ragged. After the game I walked across the park and overheard this quote from a Southampton fan ‘city shit all over us, James never got his gloves dirty’.
Steve B can you make Legends bar for the game this Saturday? Should be great mate.
