THE GREAT ESCAPE COMES TOGETHER FOO!!!!

So as is normal I am starting my report 24 hours early and straight away I bring you very EXCLUSIVE disturbing news regarding tomorrows “crucial” game???  One of City’s most important (HA) players is extremely doubtful for the game through injury??? Yes, yours truly is truly struggling some 24 hours pre kick off?  I would love to say it was a “football related” injury but, unfortunately not.  Its actually a canine related injury!!!  Alright those of you who just “may” know my Good Lady – behave!!!!  In preparation for such a “big match” yours truly decided to take a couple of days off “pre match” to try and ensure that pre match nerves are kept to an absolute minimum. ...

ALMOST there????

So an evening that will have Southampton and Reading fans in particular suddenly become massive followers of BCFC and the fans of the likes of Cov and Pompey most certainly hoping that The Hammers “do the business” on us at Ashton tonight.  To put it at its bluntest we “could” both promote Reading tonight (As long as they do better at home to Florest than the Hammers do against us) and we could also relegate both Pompey and Coventry if we win and they don’t.  But for us to gain the much needed three points we have to take into account the following:-   West Ham are by far the best away team in the Championship this season.  Thus far they...

Lets BEAT Barnsley

April 17, 2012
By

Another good result tonight v West Ham, sounded like we rode our luck but I’ll take it. Surely puts WHU into the play offs with Reading and Saints both winning !  I’ll leave it to Si to give the details. Onto Barnsley, we win we’re up – Simple as that, without having to rely on other scores. Thank you Millwall. If we do beat Barnsley, Barnsley themselves could be in trouble. Lets just BEAT Barnsley – “PLEASE”. Trouble is, after our fantastic six game unbeaten run, we’re just as likely to blow what we all think is the EASY one ! I for one will have a squeaky bum until we get those two points. Right now I’m a very happy...

Bring on the Hammers

April 16, 2012
By

After a fanastic unexpected draw at Brum, we now face a resurgent West Ham at the Gate. I still fancy our chances in front of a packed crowd under the lights, which I hope will intimidate them, add the Maynard factor and City raiseing their game to new heights, I’m gonna stick to my prediction – 2-1 to the Reds and three more points closer to safety ! Any other predictions out there ? Then of course it’s Barnsley at home, another huge game, if things go right this could see us leap frog them, and they could actually be the third relegated team ! I guess we’ll have to wait til 5 o’clock, or in our case, 12 o’clock...

EMOTION – You better believe it!!!!!

Now before I begin this “lengthy” report I have to own up and tell you my reader that its been written over a “period” of days over what has proved to be an EMOTIONAL weekend so just to help you attempt to understand the UPS and often downs of being a BCFC devotee I have tried to put it into some chronological time / date order.  Thanks Si.  FRIDAY APRIL 6   So as it now looks extremely likely that BCFC will be plying their trade in Division One next season (This first part of todays report was written before both the “absolutely crucial” six pointers against Florest and Cov) the post mortems will soon begin as to just WHERE it has...

We won ! Me, Steve A and Andy were at Legends to witness the “historic” win, we rode our luck a little to say the least, but we hung on to get the three points – brilliant, Gerks and Amougo were outstanding. I’m still bolloxed as I’m writing this, so bring on Cov, three more points Monday and we’ll be on our way ! See yo you Monday at Legends. COYR –  Steve B

One point gained but MORE WORRYINGLY one place dropped!!!!

As I was writing the introduction to todays match report I have just read the very sad news that the Aston Villa captain Stylian Petrov has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia. So for the second time in two successive reports a game of football actually pales into mere insignificance when compared to the battle that the Aston Villa captain will surely face over the coming weeks / months.  Im sure that on behalf of all BCFC supporters, wherever in the world we may be we send our very best wishes to Stylian, his family and friends and hope that just like Fabrice Muamba the outcome is positive. Now continuing in a less than cheerful manner. REASONS NOT TO BE CHEERFUL OR...

A great point and an away goal !

March 24, 2012

A great point AND an away goal ! It was a pleasant surprise when I saw City had managed an unlikely draw at Boro, even better knowing we had to play the last 9 mins + added time, with 10 men.We desperately needed that one. Did the new loanees make a difference ? Did they add some fire to the team ? Right now I don’t really care, an away point against one of the top teams (feels more like a win under the present circumstances), I’m happy. Now, if we can beat Derby next week, it will set us up nicely for the two 6 pointers over Easter, Florest and Coventry, two must win games. It didn’t take long...

CALAMITY does his bit for Sport Relief but its hard to see the funny side?

Basically since the start of the season most normal BCFC fans have “fretted” over our future membership in the Championship, but, I am sure that you will all agree that when an incident happens such as the one that occurred on Saturday, evening last at White Hart Lane when Bolton’s Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch during the FA Cup tie with Bolton, then “our” problems at BS3 are put totally into perspective and issues such as our potential relegation pale into total insignificance.  I must admit that after watching the glorious game for near on fifty years very little that happens on a football pitch actually surprises me, but, I will openly admit that whilst sitting in the...

Now after the euphoria of Tuesday nights performance against the Foxes there appears to be a slightly new confidence and optimism that we just “might” be able to get enough points between now and the end of the season from the remaining 11 games to ensure that once again next season we will be playing the likes of Leicester and Crapdiff again and not be looking forward to Yeovil and MK Dons???  In my own mind I calculated at the start of the season, using the number of points that all of the relegated sides have ended up with in the Championship over the last five seasons that a figure of 50 points “should” be enough to keep our...
